Why you haven't found the perfect morning routine.

That's right; I dropped the bomb(!), (sorry, Coaches and Gurus). There is no such thing as THE perfect morning routine. Nowadays, you find this coach and that coach sharing and telling you to follow THEIR morning routine. But that is a problem; it is THEIR routine.

I could tell you that my routine is the best, the only one you should follow:

Wake up at 04:30, make your bed, make a flask of tea, pack a bag and get to the beach at 04:50, then go for a jog, watch the sunrise, have a sea dip, drink a mug of tea, get home, complete 30 minutes of yoga and then hop in the shower before brushing your teeth and finish off by completing your facial routine. One issue that routine is for me.... it works for ME. It might not be suitable for everyone or the key to success. (That's not to suggest it wouldn't work for you".

I would be lying if I said, "THAT is the perfect morning routine for YOU, and if you do it, you will be successful!" - Joker.

Finding the perfect morning routine isn't about copying someone else's. It's finding what works for you and what pushes you. What takes you out of your comfort zone? What leaves you feeling satisfied and successful? What leaves you feeling set up for the day - ready to 'Take On The World'?

If you want to find the ultimate morning routine, find what works FOR YOU!

Take time to reflect on what pushes you to do something you feel happy with once achieved yet are reluctant to start in the beginning. That is the key to most successful habit changes, finding what you want to do yet find difficult and, if being honest, can't be bothered to do.

That is how you find growth!

What pushes YOU? After all, it is YOUR morning routine, not mine, not Bobs or Karens, YOURS!

My clients often tell me their morning routine isn't the best or could be better, or they want to achieve 'X, Y and Z' during their day.

Well, I tell them all the same thing - "Success often starts with the beginning of the day".

Taking time to reflect the day before on what you want to achieve the following day is key to success. It is that skill or tool that enables you to identify what your goals are, to then execute and achieve whatever the goals you've set are..... EVEN if only one of those goals is reached, it is still an achievement.

So here are a few critical points for you to practice to find yours:

  • Write a list of what you want to achieve in the day.

  • Plan timing for each one, e.g. 5 am Wake up, 6 am Work out etc.

  • Be realistic, don't set unrealistic goals - only you will be disappointed, and remember, small steps make way for BIG leaps!

Follow those three simple steps and find your path towards YOUR perfect morning routine.
